Welcome to a new Chapter in the Gibson household. Sit back, pour yourself a cuppa, dunk a biscuit (or five!!!) and relax, which is more than what I am doing at the moment as life seems to continue at high speed without a chance to think about making a cup of tea, let alone drink it!!!
I really hope that this blog takes over where the other blog (www.peekabooanna.blogspot.co.uk) left off, detailing the little adventures and events of Anna and her baby sister and their Early Years. I started Anna's first blog ('Wonderful World of Anna Gibson'. No longer found in cyber space but safely stored on our computer for future reference!) when she was just 3 months old and have continued, in some form or another, ever since. The problem is that life often gets in the way and I rarely find the time to indulge in such luxuries as to write it down but I will really try my best!
The design at the top was created by Anna herself. I simply asked her to draw her family and what they look like. She disappeared into her writing den and came back 10 minutes later with that drawing. As you will notice, Cubey is featured in the family portrait but he really is an honourary family member now so I suppose it is only right that he should appear. In fact, Cubey appears in at least one photo in every official wedding album that Anna has ever attended including her Auntie Sally's, Uncle Matthew's, Uncle John's and Uncle Steve's. They are all kind enough not to mind (or at least not tell us that they mind!) It is not just weddings either. He appears in official photos of 60th birthday parties, Christenings and even attended a funeral wake once!
For ages, I have been trying to think of some witty, unique and really cool name for this new blog. I was trying to play around with the words, Rhino's, pink, hodgehegs (Anna always used to mis-pronounce hedgehogs and say hodgehegs instead which was very cute), and rainbows (Anna and I love the sight of rainbows and often make up fantasy stories about what lies at the end of each one. We definitely think there is something magical about them!!) Predictably, I failed to think of a great blog name! The only thing I could think of is something about pink rhinos but then typed it into google and it asked me if I wanted to buy some illegal drugs so I quickly abandoned that name (Don't even get me started on what I found when I typed in 'Peekaboo Anna' the other day. What a bad name that was!!!)
Therefore, I picked a safe bet and went for something cheesy and completely unoriginal (What else would you expect from me!!!). My inspiration for 'Made with Love' comes from a sleepsuit that has the same slogan on it, currently hanging up in our Nursery wardrobe. I thought it was appropriate as it basically sums up what this blog is about and the purpose for it. It is made with nothing but love for my two girls so that, one day, they will be able to look back at this and read all about their early lives, As a teenager and older, i would have loved to have found a diary telling me all about the things I used to do and say, from my mum's perspective. Therefore this is my gift to them both so that, one day, they can do just that.
And although they will probably cringe when they are teenagers, they will love it when they are older. I would have loved it too. Looking forward to keeping up to date with the new adventures.
